Chasing A Rainbow

We had the most intense rainbow out tonight. I don't think I have ever seen such an intense bright strong colored one like this before. I jumped in my car and wanted to see it up closer. I drove over to the grocery store parking lot, and found that this rainbow looked like it actually was clear to the ground. Notice the difference of the sky in a matter of minutes! WOW.  Wish I had a better camera, or maybe knew more about the camera I have. If you look close you can see the three colors: red, yellow, green.  Pictures don't do it justice, it was just breath taking.

ALMOST DONE!!!!!

Well, here it is.  Stippling every part of this quilt took hours. For the trees I only sewed the outline of them.

Now I just need to make a binding and put it on. I might do some hand stitching on it,  such as adding some fern like stitches just to give a little more dimension.
This mini quilt was all done on my sewing machine, but seemed harder to me than my hand-sewn Sedona quilt. Go figure that one.

FREQUENT FLYER MILES FOR ALL THE TRIPS TO HELL AND BACK.

Have you ever had a bad day, and I mean a BAD day. Last week, I called a friend of mine that I have known for almost 40+ yrs. Her husband had been put into ICU with a blood infection. This infection almost always ends in death. While talking to her on my cell phone, my daughter drives up and parks next to me in the parking lot, where I had just come out of the gym. As I’m trying to talk on my cell phone to my friend, my daughter is frantically trying to tell me  about my other daughter. Of course she doesn’t realize I’m talking to my friend who was fraught over the possibility of losing her husband.

As I get off the phone, my daughter agitated by what her sister was doing, wanted me to come home fast to take care of the situation. Driving home I called my sister to ask her questions about some medical terms and things I was worried about for my friend’s husband, when she informs me that our other sister claimed to have heart problems and rushed to a hospital and they had to stop and then restart her heart. Now, the sister who claimed to have a heart problem is a drama queen who is addicted to prescription drugs and will claim any illness she can in order to get more drugs. Still, it was not something I needed to hear at this moment. Oh, and I forgot to tell ya, this drama queen also said she was going to pay for her funeral in advance so it would be taken care of.

Driving up into my driveway my son is upset about my one daughter who was not where she was suppose to be, so when I drove over to go retrieve her I realized why and what she had done. Don’t get me started on that, only to say, as a mother sometimes we have to be the bad cop who has to make hard decisions on behalf of our children. We have to make correct choices for our kids until they learn to make good decisions on their own. So then I had to drive back home get my husband, and then go back over and confront the other parents to deal with the situation.

By this time I have gone to hell and back 4 times with serious issues. Finally, getting home with tears in my eyes and ready to just let the bawling begin, we find out that our niece who is only 23yrs. old,  and who was  about 8 months pregnant, had just found out her baby had died and was being induced to deliver this dead baby. My heart just completely broke for this young mother who was so excited to meet her son, only to lose him. She had everything ready to bring that baby home. She would post pictures on FB of how far along she was, little shoes and clothes she had purchased for her new baby.

After I had hung up the phone from this phone call, I just looked at my husband and said. “I have been to hell and back so many times, I think I’ll apply for frequent flyer miles.”

My Sedona Quilt

This was my landscape mini quilt I made to remember my trip to Sedona, AZ, with my mom and sisters.

TRYING SOMETHING NEW

Do you remember me showing you my Sedona, AZ mini wall quilt I made. That little piece was all hand sewn and pieced together. This time I thought I would do a different type of landscaping quilt.

First, I  cut out what looked like the Aspen Trees that we had seen on our trip to the Quinault National Area. Using white paint to the trees to add a little more detail to the bark, then used a Sharpie pen (poster size) to add even more detail to the bark.

Using a glue stick to tack all the pieces onto a variegated piece of green material. I also used a variegated piece of brown material to add boulders and rocks to the scene

Then with pastel cream crayons I colored in shadows for the trees and rocks. I also added different greens and a variety of materials to add depth to the background.
Now I'm going to try and use the sewing machine to add more details, while trying to sew down all my little iddie biddie pieces of material, along with the trees and see how it come out. This darn little quilt has taken me all week to do this much.Because like all us moms we have to do it between , meetings, and our everyday housework. So hopefully I'll finish this project next week. I'm actually excited to see how it will turn out.

DON'T HATE ME CAUSE I'M BEAUTIFUL

Beautiful aren't they? Who wouldn't want to enter and leave onto this street outside of their subdivision?  To experience nature at its height everyday of Spring. What a view from my car window. It's too bad my sinus's can't take it. Every year at this time I get a huge headache when I go out side, my ears are so full that it sounds like I'm under water, my sinus's burn, and I'm dizzy all the time. Only when I'm inside can I get rid of the headache, and I live on allergy medicine for weeks until these Cherry blossoms go away taking with it the beautiful sight.

Honey..... I love you.

This is what we were given to use for our story:
Who: Babs Watson
What: a fur coat, phone call, jealousy, push
Where: a taxi
First line: Babs threw her bag on the floor and burst into tears.

                                                                                        Babs Watson

Babs threw her bag  on the floor and burst into tears. Pulled her coat tighter trying to cover her half naked body from having to push passed the people to jump into the taxi. She was embarrassed, humiliated and almost unable to speak.

“I’ll never be able to show my face again, and now the love of my life will never want to see me or even be associated with me.” Babs cried out, as she used her fur coat to wipe her nose.

Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep. “Hey lady, your cell phone!” Yelled the impatient taxi driver.

She didn't want to answer it, because she knew who it was, but she also knew that he would just keep calling her if she didn’t pick it up. Babs slowly grabbed the bag off the floor and pulled out her cell phone. Taking a deep breath trying to gain some sort of composure, she closed her eyes and slowly let out the air as if she were standing before a firing squad. “Hello” she said in a soft whimper.

“Babs, honey, are you ok? Come on back, please, they’re all gone. We need to talk.” He said.

A million thoughts raced through her head. “Why would he want her to come back? Had she not embarrassed him enough?” Her mouth was unable to form a reply.

The voice on the other end of the line continued, “Look honey, I’m so sorry, I know this was awful for you, I saw how mortified you looked when I walked in with the guys from my office. If I had thought for a moment that you had this surprise waiting for me, I would not have brought the guys home. You told me you were going out with the girls. Come on honey, come home. Please! And if it helps at all, the guys are green with jealousy that I have such a hot wife who would be waiting at home for me looking like that. Honey….. I love you.”

Hope you enjoyed my little tea time story. Love to all of you. Margie

BOTTOM'S UP!

Last night my hubby wanted to test out Skype on our computers to make sure we both knew how to use it. So he was down stairs on his lap top, me up stairs in our bedroom on mine.

We had a little trouble at first, I could see him, but no sound. He couldn't see or hear me. With a little help from my son we were up and running. My hubby was all excited because now we could see each other and visit when he is out of town.

I was already to do my elliptical machine for my workout, when he decided he wanted to figure out Skype. So I did the computer thing first, when I thought we had finished I pushed the X button and went on over to the elliptical and bent over to plug it in to get started. While I was in the "Bottom's Up" position I could hear this laughing coming from my lap top! Turns out hubby’s video was still on and he could see everything I was doing, even though I had only my screen saver on, thinking I had turned it off. I was MORTIFIED!!!!!!!! Oh My Gosh!! I knew the position I was in from that silly laughing I was hearing!

But  who wouldn't laugh if this filled the entire screen of your computer!!!!!! Due to this HUGE embarrassment I did 61 minutes, yes 61 MINUTES on the eliptacal  to try and help this fat butt. Then I continued on with floor exercise.

So the moral of the story  is "be careful, because you never know who is watching you". Glad I wasn't picking my nose, or scratching my rear.

Best Excursion Ever   This truly was a highlight of our many adventures in traveling the world. We had the opportunity to go on a six hour ...
