FORKS, WA WAS A BLOODY WASTE OF TIME. SORRY TWILIGHT FANS.

On our way out of the Lake Quinault area we found out that Forks, WA was only a hour or so away, so we decided to go and see the town since it was the the place where events from the Twilight series were supposed to have taken place. Our first stop was at the Chamber of Commerce which is also where you can pick up a map of  the locations and points of interest that had been portrayed in the book.

Outside were two red trucks, (shown in the picture) the truck on the left is the year, make and model of the one described in the book. The truck on the right is the make and model of the one used in the movie.

I was excited to see all the places I had read about in the series, because I loved the books. As we started into town to see the sights my heart started sinking as I noticed (how can I say this without sounding or being offensive)hmmm, well the town was like driving into a trailer trash area.  Sorry, but all of us felt the same way. We even talked about why they would allow this to happen when it could have been a great tourist town. We wanted to stop and get some lunch, we decided we could have a 'Bella Burger, with a side of french fries with a nice thick blood to dip them into. Maybe have a ice cold bloody drink with a scoop of frozen blood for dessert. Unfortunately, the only place we could find that looked decent was a Subway inside of a gas station, and they didn't have any place to sit down inside. They had two little tables outside. IT WAS RAINING! Duh. Isn't this suppose to have the most rain, or no sun for the most amount of days in the country? Why put two tables OUTSIDE? So we had to eat inside the truck.

This is the High School, but they are building a new one, so this is the entrance to the one from the book. They are trying to keep it for the tours.

This is supposed to be the house where Bella and her father lived. Notice the sign in the front yard that says 'The Swans'. We drove by where Edward lived and I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture of it. It is not far from here, it is a bed and breakfast. It didn't remind me of anything that was decribed in the book. It is in the middle of town! Not even in a wooded area.
I can't even tell you how disappointed we all were, and how we felt like we had wasted our time and gas going there. I'm sorry folks but it was not worth the trip.
