FULL BELLY, NICE COOL BREEZE, NOW FOR MY NAP

Darren doesn't have his fishing license yet, so on our fishing trip he was going to be "Captain of the boat." Katie had some how got her line all  messed up, and wasn't able to cast out anymore. (This was before she caught the propeller.) Darren tells her to hand him her line and he would fix it for her. Now, notice the line is still out in the water behind his head. He was using his floatation seat for a pillow and to help prop up his head and make it more comfy he used our  trash bag of left overs from Subway sandwiches. Unfortunately, Darren didn't realize he would never get that nap. It wasn't much longer before he was going  to row, row, row, our boat, quickly down the lake.

A TRUE FISHING STORY

Sat. my husband and I took our 18 yr. old daughter fishing. We found this really cute little lake where you could rent boats to go out fishing in. We get out to the middle of the lake and my daughter and I drop our lines out to do some trolling. I of course, caught  the first fish. Yeah!!!! But, it really wasn't big enough to fry, so we just released it back into the lake to swim off, and grow up a bit more. After about 2 hrs of fishing my daughter caught one about 15 lbs. maybe 4 feet long. Yep. When she went to real in her catch our little trolling motor stopped. Can you guess? Yeah that's right, this is how fishing stories get going. Katie's line got tangled up in the motor! My hubby had to pull the motor out of the water, notice the pic. You can see her fishing lure attached into the blade. It was the biggest catch of the day.

If you look closely at the pic with my fish, you'll see it is also raining on us too. No sissies here! The only problem then was, we had NO motor to get back to the OTHER END of the lake to get to the boat dock. So my husband starts rowing us back. He was doing so well, I cast my line out and started trolling again. By this time it was really raining hard and we were starting to get wet all the way through our clothes and it was getting cold. Finally my sweet husband's pride gave in and we used our cell phone and called the boat rental place to come rescue us. They actually just brought a new trolling motor and replaced our broken one. Wet and cold I wasn't about to waste fishing time, so I once again casted out my line all the way back to the dock. But not one more nibble came my way.

More of the story to follow, so come back and see!

IT'S MINE, AND YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!

This is our dog Little Bit. Tonight, I was outside on the back porch enjoying the cool evening watching the dog jumping around in our lush green grass. She would jump up and run to a new place then lay down wagging her tail. Of course I thought, she was enjoying the nice cool grass too. After I had come back in, and was upstairs in my bedroom I noticed something black hanging out of her mouth. Thinking it was a slug she had picked up from outside. When I had walked over to check  UUUUUUGGGGHHHHHH! I realized it was a dead BIRD! Screaming to the top of my lungs for my 21 yr. old son to help me. Seems our little dog was NOT going to give up her kill. Here is a picture. If you look closely, you can see the poor little birdies feet hanging out the left side of her mouth. I know this is what nature is about, but, oooooh it made me so sick. That poor little bird! We finally had to take her back outside and try to play ball with her, before she would drop that bird out of her mouth.
