IT'S MINE, AND YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!

This is our dog Little Bit. Tonight, I was outside on the back porch enjoying the cool evening watching the dog jumping around in our lush green grass. She would jump up and run to a new place then lay down wagging her tail. Of course I thought, she was enjoying the nice cool grass too. After I had come back in, and was upstairs in my bedroom I noticed something black hanging out of her mouth. Thinking it was a slug she had picked up from outside. When I had walked over to check  UUUUUUGGGGHHHHHH! I realized it was a dead BIRD! Screaming to the top of my lungs for my 21 yr. old son to help me. Seems our little dog was NOT going to give up her kill. Here is a picture. If you look closely, you can see the poor little birdies feet hanging out the left side of her mouth. I know this is what nature is about, but, oooooh it made me so sick. That poor little bird! We finally had to take her back outside and try to play ball with her, before she would drop that bird out of her mouth.

  6. That is such a funny story! I came home from work about 6 months ago, opened the front door and there were feathers everywhere! I have two indoor cats and could not imagine where the feathers had come from. I sat on the couch looking around and under the antique hoosier I saw something running. I first thought (??) it was a mouse. Well no, it was a very naked bird only a few feathers left. I called everyone because I did not know what to do with it..my very wise daughter said to put it in a box and set it on the porch. I got a shoe box, filled it with wash cloths and picked up the bird with the kitchen tongues! It was alive the last time I saw it on the porch..the next morning it was gone. The cats must have had a grand 'ole time,I just do not know how that bird got into the house!
